Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you ride. Still wondering about something? Just call us.
How do I buy tickets?
Public tours are booked online through our booking partner, aReservation. Open the booking calendar, or use the button on each tour page to go straight to that tour. Your confirmation email comes from aReservation, our booking system (check your spam folder if you don't see it). Private trips, fishing, weddings and groups are booked by phone or email.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Reservations are required for every tour, and popular times sell out, so book ahead when you can.
Where do I meet the tour?
St. Simons trolley and ghost tours meet at 115 Mallery Street, in front of the St. Simons Fishing Pier. Boat tours leave from Morningstar Marina, 206 Marina Drive, St. Simons Island. Parking is somewhat limited in the marina parking lot, so please try to travel in as few vehicles as possible. Overflow parking is available in front of the condominiums to the south and in the overflow parking area to the west. Jekyll trolley and ghost tours pick up at the Beach House restaurant on Jekyll Island, with a second stop at the Wee Pub about 5 minutes later. The Jekyll Christmas lights tour picks up at West Marine in Lanier Plaza, 1919 Glynn Ave in Brunswick (we cover the $10 Jekyll Island entry fee from there), with a second pickup at the Wee Pub on Jekyll Island. Private trips meet wherever we arrange with you. See Find Us for maps.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour (10 minutes for the sunset cruise). We leave on time, and late arrivals may be left behind with no refund or rescheduling.
Are your tours kid-friendly?
Yes, all of our tours are family-friendly. The ghost tours can have a few sudden loud moments that may startle little ones, so talk with your guide before you board.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes. You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks, including alcohol for guests 21 and over. Please bring cans or plastic rather than glass.
What should I bring?
A camera, sunscreen and a hat for the day trips, a jacket or blanket on cool evenings, and a towel to sit on for the boats if you'd like extra cushion.
Can I bring my dog?
Leashed dogs are welcome on our St. Simons and Jekyll trolley tours. Please call (912) 638-3333 when you book so we know a dog is coming. Please don't bring pets on our boat tours or the Jekyll Christmas lights bus. There just isn't enough room for them.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We make the weather call and contact you if a tour is canceled. Trolleys have roll-down curtains, and in rain, heat or cold we may swap the trolley for an all-weather bus or minibus to keep everyone comfortable.
Will we see dolphins?
We see dolphins on most trips and do everything we can to find them, but they're wild animals, so sightings can't be guaranteed. By federal law we can't feed, touch or handle dolphins. We observe from a safe distance.
Do you run tours all year?
Yes. History tours and boat tours run year-round, and ghost tours and Christmas lights tours are seasonal. We're closed Christmas Day. Other holiday schedules can change, and the booking calendar always shows what's running.
What is your cancellation policy?
Tickets are non-refundable unless we cancel the tour. With more than 24 hours' notice you can reschedule or switch tours, paying only any difference in ticket price. Booking and service fees are non-refundable. Deposits for private trips, weddings and groups are non-refundable, but if your plans change, we'll apply your deposit as a credit toward a future booking. See our policies.
Should we tip?
Tips are never required but are always appreciated by your captain, driver and guide for a job well done.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes. Every trolley tour, ghost tour and boat trip can be booked privately, at the time you choose. Call us at (912) 638-3333 or request an estimate.
More details are on our policies page, or call (912) 638-3333.
